We have samples stored at -80 degrees but we are not taking our freezers, how do we transport them to the freezers at our new lab?
It will probably give you an idea of just how committed to laboratory work HRH is when we tell you we have our own -80 degree freezers: chest, upright and underbench types. We use these to move your samples, keeping them down to temperature using the same methods we would use for your own freezers.
We can also supply a rental freezer should you need this. This can be carried as a back up unit and only charged for if one of your own freezers fails to re start in the new location. It is an unfortunate fact of engineering that equipment that has functioned perfectly for years may object to being moved, however carefully it is done. Freezers are particularly prone to this phenomenon. It is known as "derangement". Fortunately it is rare, we move your equipment with great care but with -80 degree samples it is essential to have a plan to fall back on.
We have samples stored in liquid nitrogen vessels. Do we have to empty them?
No. We ask you to allow them to run down so they are well below the full mark. We then secure the lid in such a way that they can still vent. On the vehicle they are carried within a cage that features a metal base with raised edges. In the event of a serious accident they are protected from impact and any spillage is retained within the cage.
Will HRH deal with all our office furniture and equipment and archives?
Of course: moving these items, is all part of the service we provide.
For our peace of mind, HRH freezers are maintained by one of the most experienced freezer companies in the
country. We thoroughly recommend Cool Repair Ltd from Nottingham for repairs and servicing, visit their site at
